In figures, graphics and with fascinating insights, we are showing you what we have achieved together for people and the planet in the in the second half of 2025 through sustainable banking.
At Tomorrow, your money works for a better future. Not a single cent is invested in coal, factory farming or other industries that damage the planet. And as a community, we are also having a positive impact on the climate and us as a global community. We ensure that all projects and companies that receive money from Tomorrow are contributing to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Here’s a rundown of what we achieved through sustainable banking together in the last few months:

With your accounts you have funded environmentally and socially sustainable projects
Deposits
The money in your Tomorrow accounts is being used to finance renewable energies, climate-friendly transport, better education, affordable housing and sustainable communities. Basically, a good future worth living in for us all. That happens through the sustainable investments, which some of our customer deposits are channeled into. A total of € 112 million is invested sustainably, representing around 30% of the total customer deposits. Of this, 8 % is in sustainable bonds supporting environmental protection, nature conservation, and social issues such as education and healthcare, 63 % in social bonds dedicated to social, sustainable housing, inclusion and healthcare and 29 % in general-purpose bonds financing institutions and companies that operate in line with the SDGs.
Zero
We need an all-round approach to climate protection. That’s why we are using our Zero account model to restore ecosystems, develop innovative technologies to store CO₂ and bring about political change for more climate protection. As the Zero community, you are ensuring that more CO₂ will be prevented in the future – and are therefore contributing to a climate-friendly approach to CO₂ emissions. To do this, these three projects are currently supported: the renaturation project in South Africa, the Carbon Collectors, a regional biochar initiative, as well as GermanZero, a climate advocacy organization pushing for effective climate policy. In total, your contributions to Zero this half-year will help avoid 13,865 tonnes of future emissions*, with €9,180 going toward climate policy work and innovative carbon storage technologies.
*This calculation is based on the following scientific research and certifications provided by our partners Carbon Collectors and ClimatePartner GmbH:
According to the Global Biochar C-Sink Standard of Biochar Based Carbon Sinks (Version 3.1 from 26th October 2024 ) for Carbon Collectors contribution. According to the CDM A/R large-scale consolidated methodology AR-ACM0003 “Afforestation and reforestation of lands except wetlands” and the associated Verra/VCS requirements for calculation of anticipated carbon removals for the Eastern Cape spekboom restoration project.

Through your card payments, valuable ecosystems were renaturated and rounded up for climate justice
Interchange Fee
Only with a healthy ecosystem can we preserve biodiversity. Therefore, the climate protection contribution* in the renaturation project in South Africa rebuilds valuable ecosystems. In the second half of the year 2025, the planting of 203,851 spekbooms for an area of 833,937 m² was financed via the interchange fee.**

* With Tomorrow, money flows into the spekboom renaturation project in South Africa with every card payment. This is done via the so-called "interchange fee", which merchants have to pay to the bank or banking provider that issued the used card when making transactions.
** As of 20 January 2026. Slight subsequent fluctuations are possible due to changes to the transaction totals because of unpaid or declined card payments.
Rounding Up
With our Rounding Up feature, you can round up every payment made with your Tomorrow card to the nearest euro and support projects for greater climate justice with the cents. In the second half of 2025, our customers supported the social enterprise NIDISI, which fights both the stigma surrounding menstruation and environmental problems in Nepal. The organisation produces eco-friendly, compostable menstruation pads made from banana fibres, a sustainable alternative that also empowers women living in poverty by providing them with employment and financial independence. The project was successfully completed in July 2025 with a total donation amount of €240,000, thanks to the support of Tomorrow’s customers.
Moreover, our customers supported the second phase of WWF Germany’s ambitious nature conservation project. The goal is to protect biodiversity in East Africa, restore forest areas, and secure a sustainable income for local communities. One key focus is to connect existing protected areas and ecosystems across borders through wildlife corridors, helping preserve the region’s rich biodiversity for generations to come. The project was successfully completed in November 2025 with a total donation amount of €235,200, thanks to the support of Tomorrow’s customers.

In addition, the feature supported the pilot program of Project Tres, which contributes to the economic empowerment and integration of migrant women in Berlin. With the support of the Tomorrow Community, Project Tres provides knowledge on financial independence, cultural orientation, and self-determination, and creates spaces where women can support each other. Project Tres addresses the challenges faced by migrant women, such as discrimination, lack of recognition of qualifications, and limited access to financial systems. The program offers workshops on migration, identity, and financial education to promote self-determination and equality. Through the support of the Tomorrow Community, 240 women were reached and 80 women were accompanied through the complete workshop series. The participants gained financial security, self-confidence, and access to new income opportunities. The project was completed in mid-December with a donation sum of €93,600.
In addition, the Rounding Up feature funds the project with Mission to Marsh, which aims to rewet and renaturate a severely degraded moor near Osnabrück. Together with the Tomorrow Community, the project promotes the restoration of this important ecosystem, which stores more CO₂ than all the world's forests combined. The project stabilizes the moor, brings back peat mosses, and promotes biodiversity through area analyses and water level monitoring. At the same time, schools and communities are involved to convey the importance of moors for climate protection and water regulation. Through the support, the community contributes to the rewetting of large areas, the return of typical moor species, and the reduction of potential CO₂ emissions, while educational offerings raise awareness of this important work.
