If you want to save the world, you need to throw a better party than those destroying it.
Tomorrow is a social business started in 2018 by founders Inas Nureldin, Jakob Berndt and Michael Schweikart with a vision to use money as a lever for positive change.
Since our launch in 2018 we made our idea of Tomorrow come true – together with 50+ employees and 50,000+ customers.
They say that our money works for us. Well, does it?
About three years ago, Inas Nureldin got the idea for Tomorrow. He was wondering: What is our money actually doing while it sits in our bank accounts? And how could we use it to generate positive change? Inas’ answer laid the foundation for Tomorrow. After “Muddy Boots” – a company he had founded to bring transparency to the supply chains in the food industry – it was time for a new challenge.
Michael Schweikart has also been on board at Tomorrow since the beginning, as co-founder and our lord of numbers. He used to work as a management consultant in the idyllic Bavarian town of Erlangen, later in the mecca of start ups Berlin. Most recently, Michael helped to set up and run the platform jobs4refugees which helps refugees getting started on the German job market. How can you make a difference – and organise your processes in a lean and effective way? This question drives him on a daily basis.
The third co-founder of the squad is Jakob Berndt. Until 2017, he was co-founder and managing director of the social business “Lemonaid & ChariTea”. Its unique combination of development cooperation, soft drinks and zeitgeist won the company numerous awards, and by now their premium soft drinks are sold in over 15 countries. His main aim is to bring the complex topic of “sustainable finance” to people in a simple and honest way. Because it’s far too important to be a niche topic.
The Tomorrow Team is a bunch of firm believers working hard on creating a better future. Most wo*manpower is needed in our tech and support team – because our product is digital first and our community our queens and kings. Our colleagues in the departments of Business Intelligence, Business Development, Design, People & Culture, Impact and Marketing & Communication make Tomorrow complete.
In the end, it’s a decision of making money work for or against the future. We have chosen the future.
As a society, we are facing massive global challenges, which demand a new way of doing business. If we want to prevent an ecological and social collapse, we need to learn to manage our resources in a truly sustainable way.
Many people aren’t aware of the fact that banks use their customers’ money, no matter whether that’s money in a debit or savings account or invested in funds. They invest massively in coal power, weapons and other industries damaging our planet and humankind. Since the Paris Agreement in 2016, big banks have invested more than 2,700 billion dollars in fossil fuels. Even though science proved long ago that climate change is an existential threat for our planet and all its inhabitants.
We want to tackle the roots of the problem and fundamentally rethink the world of finances. We’re moving forward. Every single day. Together with you. Through technology and the highest standards of sustainability and transparency. These are the three key elements we need to open the black box of finance and to find and implement innovative approaches to social and ecological questions.
The ultimate goal of Tomorrow has never been to make profit, but to take part in shaping a better future for all of us. Because we strongly believe that creating a fair, sustainable future is something we can only – and must – do together. That's why we’re committed to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (SDGs). With our services we want to contribute to achieving these goals. Specifically, we work on progress in the following five areas: guaranteeing basic needs, empowerment, climate protection, nature and fairness. Only companies and projects that actively contribute to meeting these goals will potentially qualify for our support.
We’re aiming high, but not at any price. We’re committed to our values. They guide us on the path ahead – and on every d-tour we might take.
Tomorrow will always take care of all your questions, worries and ideas. We are your contact and we will always ensure the sustainable use of your money and design the product.
We are a sustainable FinTech company. We believe that money can be part of the solution to our current problems. Together with you we want to create a truly sustainable bank.
Currently, we don’t have a banking license yet. That’s why we cooperate with Solarisbank to offer you everything a bank does, too. Solarisbank supplies young companies like us with a so-called core banking system, they have a banking license and need to follow the (very, very) strict banking regulations under the supervision of the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (short: BaFin).
In a nutshell: Solarisbank keeps your money safe while Tomorrow runs the app.
Solarisbank is our partner in the background. Thanks to their help we have been able to meet all technological and regulatory requirements right from the start. All Tomorrow accounts are with Solarisbank AG, so officially you also sign a contract with them.
However, Tomorrow will always take care of all your questions, worries and ideas. We ensure the sustainable use of your funds/deposits and design the product (i.e. the app, investment possibilities and so on) in all its details.
Still got some questions? We’re happy to explain all the details. Send us a message in the chat or an email.
As a certified B Corporation we align profits with sustainability.
We’ve got big plans for Tomorrow. In the long run we want to become the leading digital sustainable bank in Europe. That’s a lot of work. So let’s get started!
