We have been recognised as one of the world’s best B Corps in 2021!

Published August 2, 2021

Fantastic news: we have been named as one of the world’s best B Corps in the “Customers” category! We see this as a very special recognition of our work because not only are our customers and their satisfaction very close to our hearts, but our mission wouldn’t be possible without them.

Once a year, non-profit organisation B Lab awards the B Corps companies making the greatest impact in their industry on a social and ecological level. This time the categories were Governance, Workers, Environment, Community and Customers.

And we are one of the chosen few! With a score of 47.3 points, we were named in the “Customers” category as one of the world’s best B Corps in 2021. According to B-Lab, from a global perspective this puts us among the companies that have completed the B Impact Assessment and are proving that competing not only to be the best in the world, but also the best for the world is a winning strategy – and are therefore paving the way for more businesses to join the movement.

Out of all the companies honoured in this category, we are the only one from Germany.

Why we were recognised in the “Customers” category

Only companies that are setting new standards in serving their customers and also offer a product that supports the greater good can make it into the “Best For The World: Customers 2021” category. Basically, businesses that are making a meaningful impact on people and the planet. This recognition puts us among the best 5 percent of companies that have undergone the B Impact Assessment.

And we couldn’t be happier about it because our mission of making money part of the solution is something we do for and together with our customers. Every single day we are working on providing you with the best possible service and the strongest product – in order to collectively change the finance industry and ensure that money works towards a better future.

What is a B Corp?

B Corp stands for “Certified Benefit Corporations”. In other words, companies that are geared to making a profit, but do not use their business purely to maximise profits. To become a B Corp, companies must undergo a rigorous process in which the company management, employee rights and the impact of the business model on the environment, society and customers are assessed. To remain a B Corp, companies are required to re-submit themselves to the assessment process every few years.

How long has Tomorrow been a B Corp?

Since 2020, we have been part of the B Corp global network that doesn’t promote growth over values and is working together to ensure that this ethos becomes the new status quo. There are currently 3,600 companies in the world that belong to this circle, including Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s and The Guardian.  We ended up with a brilliant overall result of 118 points, 47.3 of which were for “Customers”, the impact area in which we were honoured. To put this in perspective, a company can call itself a B Corp if they score 80 points or more, while the best 10% of all B Corps in our business segment have an average score of 131 points.
