STMicroelectronics plays a pivotal role in fostering electric mobility through its semiconductor solutions specifically designed for electric vehicles. By offering advanced power management, motor control, and battery management systems, its microchips enhance energy efficiency, optimize range, and improves the overall performance of electric cars. In addition, in 2020, the company announced its strategy to become carbon neutral and use 100 % renewable energies by 2027. As a first milestone, the company wants to be in line with the 1.5°C-goal of the Paris Climate Agreement by 2025. In 2022, STMicroelectronics decreased its CO₂ equivalent emissions by 59 % (per unit of production) compared to 2016.
