The Tomorrow Advisory Council
What is sustainable and good for the future of our planet should not just be a matter of our gut feeling here at Tomorrow. A transparent presentation of the ecological and social footprint is as much a part of Tomorrow as push messages for smart banking.
Derived from the “Sustainable Development Goals” of the UN, Tomorrow has defined four fields that we will actively address with our projects. All projects that we support or initiate fund either the conservation of natural resources, the mitigation of climate change, the safeguarding of basic human needs or the empowerment of disadvantaged groups. In addition to an ESG screening and the comparison with our negative list of industries, in the future all projects will also be evaluated by an external advisory board of experts. It contains a number of prominent figures from the digital, financial and sustainability worlds:
Christian Rebernik is a banking expert. As a former CTO and Managing Director of N26 and co-founder of Vivy, he knows his way around fintech and digital platforms. Born in Austria, he also brings with him experiences dating back to his time as CTO of Parship and developer of the UN World Food Program’s ShareTheMeal app.
Prof. Markus Beckmann
Chair and research dean Prof. Markus Beckmann is a forward thinker. His research focuses on sustainability management and social entrepreneurship. Markus Beckmann is our contact when it comes to the interface of global systems and their players.
She is an entrepreneur, children’s book author and meditation teacher. The qualified ethnologist Joana Breitenbach is an all-round talent who wears many hats in the digital age. Well known through betterplace.org and the betterplace lab, she is committed to a sustainable and social tomorrow.
At the age of 16, he founded his first company on his parents’ farm. In 2007, Jimdo came into being, a very successful website building set, for which Fridel and his co-founders received the German Founders Award. Since then he has had so much fun that he is currently working on two further own projects and supporting others as a mentor. Tomorrow, for example.
Once a football professional, today a social entrepreneur with the Federal Cross of Merit. Viva-Con-Agua’s founder, Benjamin Adrion, has been ensuring that people all over the world have access to drinking water for many years and has a special eye for spontaneous and creative ideas.
As a former CEO of GLS Bank, Andreas Neukirch is our expert in sustainable banking. Since 2010, he has held a professional honorary post as chairman of the advisory board of Caritas Kreis Soest eV and is committed daily to the good things in the lives of others.
André M. Bajorat
This pater familias has been at home in the internet landscape for over 20 years and knows her like the back of his hand. He is not only CEO of figo, but also podcaster, blogger, business angel and internationally popular speaker.
Prof. Alexander Bassen
He is a professor of business administration at the University of Hamburg, member of the UN PRI Academic Network Advisory Committee and member of the Council for Sustainable Development of the Federal Government. Prof. Alexander Bassen is our man when it comes to the environment, social affairs and government & politics. We are glad (and also a bit proud) to have so much concentrated expertise and power on board and look forward to supporting and developing exciting projects together.
*We’re aware of the small proportion of women in the Advisory Board. We’re not happy about it. BUT we are already in conversation with a number of great and smart women to change this quickly!
